How do you go about hiring the right agent?
Many people search for the right listing agent by price shopping. I am convinced that this is what they look for because they don't know how important it is to hire the right agent. The following items are things that you might want to consider when hiring an agent to sell your home.
A great listing agent can often get you MORE for your home than a discount agent. A great listing agent won't leave you hanging in escrow when closing day comes and goes and you still don't have your money. There are many things that happen after you finally do get a buyer for your home. Ask yourself the following questions. If you can answer "yes" to any of them, a discount agent may not be the best choice for you.
- Is it important to you to know what is going on each step of the way during the escrow of your home sale?
- If you have a problem, do you want someone you can call for guidance?
- If your agent doesn't call you back after numerous calls, is this a
problem?
- If the buyers are dropping in at all hours of the day and night, do you
feel it is important to have an agent to shut things down?
- The buyers agent seems very on the ball, do you want the same representation?
- Do you think it is important to know what is required by Arizona State
law so you don't get sued after your home sale has closed?
